Latin dance class has changed from Salsa to Samba. Latin american Spanish roots to latin american Portuguese roots. I think that I will like Samba… a lot. Its bouncy. And full of motion. And you can pick up on the beat easier.
When I was in Chicago on the night we went to Joe’s Bebop Cafe they played some salsa music. They also played Salsa music on Gala night. And wow, I am no good. And wow, those mexicans dance the salsa like they’re walking. I still move like a robot. On Bebop night I asked a girl to dance after I had a ‘few’ drinks. After stepping on her feet a couple times, I decided I ought to do this thing another time. Ah well. Someday. When I live in a city… or Mexico, Peru, Equidor, or Argentina, I’ll figure it out.
Holy crap, it is pouring outside. I had to go out and let it rain on me for about a minute. It’s a little below 60 degrees right now so I’m shivering. Were it warmer I would still be out there revelling in the torrent. I love the heavy rain. This is a good quality sustained down pour… too bad it’s not about 15 degrees warmer.
Welp time to go sit in front of my toyostove.
Gots to post. No reason. But things have been happening. Chicago was good. Events after each conference day were pricey, but fun. I got to go out and have the girls help me choose some schwanky shirts & ties. Then I went to a dressy gathering and shmoozed with the high rollers. Open bar. Danced the night away.
Bought my helmet. Matte deep gray shoei. Maybe I should have gone with yellow. Oh well.
Hum, tired and not thinking very straight. This is turning out to be a boring entry.

I’m going to Chicago for the Rotary Centennial Convention. Time for five days of Rotaract MADNESS. Woo Hoo! I haven’t been to Chicago since I lived there when I was 3 years old.
Ordered the aerostich 2 piece roadcrafter motorcycle suit. Totally black pants and a gray jacket with silver ballistics. Would have liked to go with a silver jacket like Dave suggested, but they don’t do silver for the whole jacket. No worries. It’ll kick ass as soon as I’ve got it… assuming it’s not too big. Then I’d have to send it back and get a size smaller. I am teetering between size 40 and size 42 and decided to error on the large side. We shall see. Also got extra armor for my back and hips and I got a fleece liner jacket. All in all its about 1000 bucks. A pretty penny for top of the line equipment. Now I’ve got to find a medium Shoei helmet (at least to see if it fits right) and find a decent looking pair of gloves and I’m set. In the mean time Matthew’s BMW suit, his HJC helmet, my sidi boots, and my yellow leather work gloves are doing the job.
The weekend after Chicago, I’m likely riding down to Chitina to do some dip netting in the Copper River (famous for the best salmon in Alaska) with John and company. Then the next weekend (fourth of July weekend) I’m riding down to Haines with Matthew. Motorcyclin’ site seein’ in Alaska good times!
Yup I’m tired, but I don’t want to go to bed yet. Mostly haven’t done so cause I just let the dogs in, but they must be out when I sleep lest they chew my stuff. Currently they are contentedly chewing on some rawhide bones. They were particularly staved for attention when I got home this evening, so I had to let them in and love them up. Now I’ll play on the computer while they chew.
I bought my motorcylce boots, they should be at my mailbox by now. I’ve yet to purchase my aerostich. if you can believe it I’m stuck on choosing a color scheme. I know I’m going to get black pants, but I can’t decide on how to do the jacket. At first I was going to go with High Visability Lime-Yellow, but then everybody I tell that to tears me a new asshole. I’ve got 17 new ones by now. I’m considering burgundy now, but that’s so dark! Both of those colors would have black ballistics (shoulders & forarms). Well I might go with silver balistics on the burgundy just for some refelctiveness. My motorcycle is red. A darkish red. I wouldn’t say it was burgundy though. I should post a picture. Heres one of a russian chick on it pic. Another reason I’m somewhat apprehensive about getting burgundy is what if I get a different colored bike when I get a new bike?? I’ve also got to get a helmet of my own. Probably get a shiney metallic gray. Brand will most likely be Shoei.
Yeah, its bed time now. Dogs are out.
